Late Start

I am getting into a night owl sort of pattern - not having to get up for class or anything helps with that. I have always felt like a night owl, though. Not that I mind the morning - if I get to bed by 9 or 10, I don't mind being up at 5 or 6. There are good things about the morning. But there are also good things about late at night too. And that is more of the schedule that mom keeps, so it makes sense to slip into it somewhat. I have always wondered what my sleep/wake pattern would be without any strictures - like those tests they have done where people are in a twilight sort of light all the time and didn't have clocks so they just started to sleep and wake when their bodies suggested it.

Lately I have been watching a lot of Misfits - the UK response to Heroes. Fun stuff. And catching up on whatever else I feel like catching up on. And not being very productive. Yippee!

Oh, there is another writing blog post up.

Didn't do a lot yesterday. I did make tacos for dinner - which meant a little trip to Wegman's. Yippee! And I finished the first quarter of my letter writing campaign. Yay! And I decided that I was going to stop playing GoT - Garden of Time. The people who make it haven't fixed it in a while. And it is seemingly infinite which may appeal to some, but I do like to finish some things, sometimes. And I hate begging for stuff from my friends - the game requires one to either spend money - which I am loathe to do - or to beg one's friends to give them things. I am sure any of you on Facebook have seen the posts - I need a widget so that I can have this other widget. Sure it makes the game "social" but not in a pleasant way.

Did anyone watch the State of the Onion, er, Union last night? We did. Inspired me to work on my campaign...

Yay tacos!

Getting Older

I had thought of a great title and subject matter for a blog and poof - it is gone - out of my head. I ought to know better than to not write it down immediately when I think of it. Sigh, sigh, sigh. Oh well, c'est fromage.

Still feeling downright anti-social. Yippee! But I do need to get out and about today. Laundry to do, Christmas tree to buy, and groceries to shop for. I am wanting to make an apple crumble - got a lot of Ida red Apples sitting around that need to be eaten.

Got another month of photos done on Facebook yesterday! Hurrah! I plan to get another done today. That would be awesome. And mom and I had breakfast for dinner - I still haven't learned to get everything done at the same time. Oh well - the food still tasted good! Now I am trying to figure out the menu for the week. One of the great things about cooking for my mother is that she is appreciative of anything I feed her! I still smell like bacon from last night. Shower time! I figure once a month is probably a good thing whether I need it or not. Maybe that is why I am feeling anti-social...because I stink?

Being anti-social could also be affecting my blogging. I am just not feeling very interesting. Glarg.

Today's Daily Challenge was to watch a music video of a favorite song - I chose Scarlet Begonias from the Grateful Dead. Yay! Fun stuff and brought memories and tears. Not actual tears, just a bit of welling - from happiness and remembrance of things past. And I was struck by how awesome the technology is that allows us to do something like that. Speaking of which, I am not getting very far, very fast on my beer video blog. It will happen - just don't know when or how or what it will look like...

I really need to give up on the silly Gardens of Time thing. Just sayin'...

I generally like my eggs over easy - mom likes hers over hard! This is twice baked potato, french toast, bacon and eggs.

Irene

Who has been glued to the television (or internet or their phone) to watch the progress of Irene? Not I. But I bet there were lots and lots of people who were. It is a bit like the boy who cried wolf - the media hypes and hypes and hypes and then fizzle. Hype, fizzle, hype, fizzle. Then when something really important happens, hype - and no one cares. We are bombarded with crap news and hype all the time till our senses get overwhelmed and our brains shut down. We just don't care anymore. Yay apathy!

Anyway, we are getting our share of Irene today, such as it is, here in beautiful Geneva, NY (where you are all encouraged to come and visit, by the way). 58% chance of rain. Eeek. Don't get me wrong, I do not underestimate the power of mother nature - she is to be honored and respected and not treated lightly. This time, though, I think we will survive. Sadly, I do have to go out today and do some food shopping so that I can make a yummy dinner. I have it all planned. I can barely, in fact, wait.

Have I mentioned Daily Challenge on here? Yes, I can see I have - some of my readers are actually from Daily Challenge - at least I think so. Anyway, it is quite a nice group of people, so far. All very positive and supportive - at least the ones that I have connected with and interact with. Today's challenge - a little spine twisting. Yay spine twisting!

Diary of a Plate Addict is one step closer to being ready to print. I went through the rest of Dara's notes yesterday. Next step, create the document that goes with the book to make clear (clarify even) what changes I am asking to have done. Hopefully, I can crank that out pretty quickly. We shall, of course, see.

Oooh, started watching Season 5 of Doctor Who last night. The new Doctor will take a little bit of getting used to. The new sidekick/companion - I am in love already. :) And I am playing a lot of Gardens of Time. Yippee!

Had a dream last night about being late to Spanish class (which starts tomorrow). So I guess I will be setting an alarm. Poop. I hate setting an alarm...

Does anyone know what to do when someone cashes a check that oughtn't to have done so? The scenario - I give a check to x - y cashes it, one presumes illegally. Who is liable for that money? I am guessing the bank needs to reimburse me so that I can reimburse x. Anyone?

I haven't forgotten about you, follower, 33 - more on you tomorrow!

Enough Sunday drivel, here are pictures from August 27, 2011:

The desk revealed!

The stuff that had been on the desk - and now needs to be dealt with. Severely! :)

Next on the neaten agenda - the chair!

Thrown together dinner last night - al fredo pasta with clams and a vegetable mosh. Yum!
